Yes yes, i know i said i'd stop posting about paintball.. but i can't help it!! Please forgive me..
We swore after our first game at Isi Rimba that we won't be heading back there again for a long long long while.. but the call of the jungle was too great, and we made the trek back to nature once again. Isi rimba with it's lush jungle greenery, crystal clear flowing rivers, leeches, and snakes provides a truly scenic jungle paintballing experience. This time we were shown the roots of jungle warfare by representatives of the resident mammals --> The Jolly Rogers PB Corps, Team TDP, and The Sacred Valley Ghost..

Shadow Recon Series
Funny how all my post seem to be about Paintball... i think i've gotta start expressing some of my thoughts in my posts from now on... after this one though! Mudtrekker organized their first night game on Saturday. A closed game that was limited to recognized paintball teams only due to safety reasons. So i thought i'd share a little bit here for the benefit of those of you who missed out...
It was a creepy game to be involved with, visibility was cut down to about 6-feet only with the night air causing heavy fogging on lenses. The game was scary as you couldn't see your enemies nor could you even see where you were shooting!! but it did get your heart pumping knowing that your enemy could only be a few feet away from you...
here are some snippets from the night game... aptly called "Shadow Recon".

NAM: Tour Of Duty
A friendly invitation from the Jolly Rogers PB Corps saw us experiencing Malaysia's natural rain forest first hand on the 1st of May 2008. Many a time has Ja'Son tried to convince us to engage in jungle warfare, and we almost always come up with excuses not to go. But this time, since it was a public holiday and giving in to his constant bragging on how good the jungle is, we decided to give it a shot. I must say, Isi Rimba, which is located near the Zoo Negara is a very scenic spot, with clear flowing rivers (and CLEAN!), cute Malaysian styled huts and entirely surrounded by natural forest. As it was a holiday, the public wading areas were filled with picnickers, photographers, and of course the Paintballers.
Playing paintball in a real forest/jungle was truly an experience for us "urban" folk. the humidity made us all look like we'd taken a dip in the river, soaking in sweat from head to toe. Some highlights of the day include watching Gavin struggling through thick shrub, then watching him fall after tripping over branches (Hahahah!), and finally listening to him scream "I dont want to play anymore!" as he struggled to free his feet from a mud pool.
Hats off to all the jungle operators from the Jolly Rogers, Sacred Valley Ghost, and Grenadier Guards paintball teams for the intimate introduction to what Malaysia's rain forest has to offer.
Here are some snaps from the day's war...

Sundays...
I've not had a sunday sleep-in for the last few months! besides work, paintball now rules our sundays. My sleep-ins, long lazy late lunches, and Coffee at Starbucks have been replaced with the words "GO! GO! GO!", "COVER ME!", and "JWAN!! RUN NOW!" yelled at me, big bruises, mosquito bites, and crawling in the dirt. But no one's really complaining, sundays have never been this much fun. Not only do we get to experience what its like being in a battle and inflicting pain on other people without serious repercussions, we're also blessed to experience a strong sense of camaraderie, learning to trust your teammates, build teamwork, learning to take & shout commands, and truly understanding the phrase "its about the man next to you..." (last bit was a tad corny, forgive me!).
We're now proud to be apart of HAMMER Special Operations Division. A renowned team in the recball scene that places high emphasis on objective based & strategic game play. HAMMER is led by the very capable Frank Edison (who'd probably make a good general in the army!), you would've probably heard of his voice before even meeting the man himself. Our game play has seriously improved since coming under Frank's command and playing alongside our fellow HAMMER mates. Our games are generally open to anyone keen to learn more about scenario paintball or to have great saturday/sunday fun. Anyone interested, can drop me a mail.
