A bottle of fine wine

The 26th day of August in the year 2008 marked the beginning of my final year where my age starts with a 2. After this year, i shall dread filling up forms that have a column marked "AGE:____ ". From next year onwards i might just fill in "AGE: quit asking, its in my i/c number." i don't want to be constantly reminded of my age! gawddamnnit... i wanna stay 21 forever!
I live by the saying "Age is just a number" and the tune from the Toys 'R' Us Tv commercial (from back in the days...) constantly plays though my mind... i behave and act like a 5-year old on a constant basis, fascinated by new toys, and no day of mine goes by without overdoses of laughter - partly due to my friends who are also plagued with the same immature syndrome...

Think about it... Who in the right mind would actually want to grow OLD? It irks me when people say: "you're almost 30 la!, grow up la!" or things like "you're 29 de la bro, you still like clothes like that ah??" "you're almost 30 and you still want to drive such a car ah? buy a 4-door la.." urgh...To me questions and statements like that equate to saying that you're nearing your death and you should prepare for it, why not just go out and buy a casket?. I don't recall any authority or higher being penning a set of rules and guidelines on "how to behave your age at XX"..or "car to drive when you're XX years old". its funny how some people 'believe' that there is a certain way a person should behave at a certain given age. i find that bewildering. But society is such, especially more so in Asian cultures i think, where fear denotes how one should live. Fear of what others may think, fear of being different, this fear forces the weak to conform to normality, to suppress individual expression, to just fade into oblivion - lost in the sea of monochromatic souls living life as a routine, stipulated solely by the observation of their seniors. I believe, you are who you are and how you express it is your personal choice. Food needs to be put on the table, so of course while executing your responsibilities at work and such you may be required to conduct yourself in a certain manner. But during your own free and social time, by all means LET LOOSE! LIVE LIFE! YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE.
Each to their own though, i was raised to respect individual choices and adapt accordingly... but there's no harm in talking a whole lot about my personal opinions! contradictory as they may be..

i'm living, loving, and enjoying life as it comes. You are only young once, but you can stay immature indefinitely! Toys'R'us Kid for life!

i leave you with some quotes on age...beginning with my favorite.

"And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years."
- Abraham Lincoln.

"Wisdom doesn't automatically come with old age. Nothing does - except wrinkles. It's true, some wines improve with age. But only if the grapes were good in the first place."
- Abigail Van Buren (1918 - 1978)

"By the time we've made it, we've had it."
- Malcolm Forbes, The Capitalist Handbook

"You don't stop laughing when you grow old, you grow old because you stopped laughing."
- Michael Pritchard

"The young have aspirations that never come to pass, the old have reminiscences of what never happened. "
- Saki (1870 - 1916)

"I think age is a very high price to pay for maturity."
- Tom Stoppard (1937 - )

"The time to begin most things is ten years ago."
- Mignon McLaughlin

reINVENTed

INVENTING is the new word. Cancer stick manufacturer KENT has embarked on an all new rebranding campaign with the launch of its new range of KENT cigarettes. MINTEK & 3TEK now replace the previous KENT 961 and menthol range. The all new MINTEK is claimed to be the "coolest" ciggie in the market, with the a "mint-thread" running along the filter providing maximum menthol effect. I'm no menthol smoker, but one puff of the mintek infina ciggie and my mouth went icy cold! Don't take my word it, go smoke a pack and then send me some reviews..
The new launch campaign saw a series of events held throughout Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Johor, that included special performances by MC Vandal, J1, an acrobatic electric violinist, and mind boggling break dance moves by the Gila Battle Crew. Here are some pictures and blatant advertising for Three-Sixty from the grand event at MUNCHAUS KL, and parties at Maison KL and QE2 Penang... get reINVENTed.

Presenting...

Suzuki has a long standing history in motorsports internationally, but has long been absent from the local racing scene. Aiman Motors Sdn Bhd and AMN Motorsports, with the help of Suzuki Malaysia, HICOM DRB, and HICOM-LUB aim to revive Suzuki's presence in Malaysian Motorsports with the launch of TEAM AMC-SUZUKI RACING. A stock Suzuki Swift Sport has been race prepared by AMN Motorsports and will make its inaugural debut at the Merdeka Millenium Endurance Race 2008 in Sepang International Circuit. A race that will put the Swift's mettle and its pilots (including female drivers!) to the test.

The Suzuki AMC Racing Team is made up of team principal Azizudin Ismail who is also director of Aiman Motor Sdn Bhd, team manager Nurul Alis Aidil Akbar and two drivers.
One of the drivers, Hiroko Nakamura, is a former race queen in Japan while the other is Mohd Azad Jasmi, an experienced advanced driving instructor

The lack of support and participation from Suzuki Japan is a bit of a let down, but the local boys are confident in building and setting up a car that'll match its competitors. Qualifying and completing the grueling 12-hour race would already be an achievement for this team, as the the Swift will be running a near stock engine and due to the tight timeline, will be piloted by drivers who were not given adequate time to get acquainted with the car. Three Sixty Sdn Bhd who were behind the launch event, wishes TEAM AMC SUZUKI RACING all the best!

The Perfect Finale

10 venues, 10 concerts, 5 weeks... culminated to a satisfying energy charged end on Sunday the 17th of August 2008 at AEON City, Bukit Tinggi Klang. With 9 shows behind us, this last show was by far the most successful one. The atmosphere was filled with the energy of rock fans as some of Malaysia's top bands took centre stage. The crowd went ecstatic when HUJAN and MEET UNCLE HUSSAIN belted out their chart topping hits.Yours truly was seen singing along and gyrating whilst atop a chair, with Mr.Gavin Liew proudly joining in... "Pagi yang gelap!, kini sudah terang...." much to the amusement of the rest of the crew. Its been a hectic stress filled 5-weeks, having traveled across the Peninsula a few times, stayed in hotels more than i did at home, and had my days turn to nights... A quick shout out to all the THREE SIXTY crew and all our vendors who made it all happen with minimal flaws. Finally, the stress and hectic level here at ThreeSixty is coming down a little... which i hope will provide me some time to go on my car-hunt!

Hate to see her leave...

It is unfortunate that i do not have the necessary financial resources to acquire a larger home to accommodate everyone. Regretfully, my pride and joy is now up for sale and it saddens me deeply to have to see her go. Parking restrictions in my stables necessitate the regretful sale, as a new steed will be joining the ranks in the Heah residence.

So, for a mere RM30,000.00 you can be the proud owner of a low-km's, well modded, weekend use show winning 1997 Proton Putra, well maintained by an avid enthusiast who loves cars more than his family (his parents would attest to this) . It's over!... well, sorta.

You must be getting tired of hearing me whine about my "Trans-Peninsula tour", i think it should be aptly dubbed LE TOUR DE MALAYSIA from here on. Yes, i've just managed to bed my head in a familiar room with orange walls and to the scent of dirty laundry (aah..its good to be home!). I've just returned from my grueling east coast tour with the boys of ThreeSixty, where our sleeping patterns were turned inside out and budget hotel rooms were called home. I made a bad decision to drive myself to Kuala Terrengganu on Thursday evening (offer to ride with the crew was duly declined by yours truly), as it took me 7-hours of NON-STOP solo driving to get from PJ to KT Beach Resort in Kuala Terrengganu!! And trust me, yours truly does not drive like your nanny on the highways. To top of it all off, i had the rain dotted with sporadic torrential downpours as company throughout my arduous journey.

KL-KUANTAN highway is nice smooth, long, and quiet... boring. You're the only car on the road most of the time.

Couldn't get any pics of the stretch from Kuantan - Kuala Terrenganu as it was night and i was dodging trucks, cows, and idiotic drivers.

7-hours driving, torrential rain, excessive nicotine consumption, coupled with inadequate h2o intake, resulted in a massive fever and gut regurgitating cough as soon as i reached Kuala Terrengganu. Splendid!

As usual, crew worked almost 24-hrs, and as usual we were plagued with minor but annoying issues here and there. My fever and cough got worse on departure day, so Lim was my designated driver for the journey from Kuala Terrengganu to Kuantan. A couple of pit-stops along the way and we eventually reached Grand City Hotel Kuantan, our new home for the next couple of days. It was literally my home for the next 48hrs as i almost never left the hotel room, trying in vain to nurse my irritated throat.

2am Supper

It feels great to be back home... but i was hoping the work-related phone calls would stop too, but i was wrong. No time to fully recover and its back to work again. I've always proclaimed myself to be 21years old....for about the last 7 years or so. But reality check after this grueling 4-weeks, i now have to admit that though i may be 21 years old at heart and soul (and mind sometimes too..), my body is nearing the big 30.. and coping with such workload is beginning to take its toll. Tell tale signs aplenty. I'm now looking forward to Q4 of 2008 where i have a host of "happy-happy-joy-joy" things to look forward to, mainly EmilyT coming back from Oz in November, and my much anticipated new ride that'll hopefully grace my stables by September. PLUS! much needed R&R holidays in ChiangMai in September and a week long indo-escapade in Jakarta circa early November. i can't wait! woo-hoo! ok, Blog time over, back to work.

Kuantan...

Have a great week everyone!

Homeboy Shorty-Z got hitched!

Back in the good ol'days of the late 90's, Azree Izuan & yours truly used to rock the mic of numerous high school events. From 1000+pax LEO & INTERACT I.U. Nites to new member installation functions, we rocked the house to the sounds of Dr.Dre, Warren G, Will Smith and more. Those were the days... rolling onto stage on a mini baby tricycle, backup dancers and funky hip-hop outfits. It was our 5-mins of fame... good thing we decided not to make it a career though, or we'd be like most of the local hip-hop artist, struggling to make ends meet. A community message: please support your local hip-hop/R&B artists, buy original. (links to notable local artist located on right of this blog page). On another note, to any ex-SMDJ'ians who might have pictures of our performances during those events, please get in touch with me, Thanks!.

Well, one half of the SMDJ hip-hop duo took the plunge last Sunday, tying the knot with his beautiful wife Ms. Suhana in a grand wedding at the Sime Darby Convention Centre, Mon't Kiara. Azree's wedding served sorta like another mini SMDJ class of 1997 reunion, where old friends caught up and chatted as though they'd never left high school... true to our good old selves, filling the air with bouts of laughter.

Well... Congrats once again Mr.Azree Izuan, be seeing you soon bro!

Barely 4 days at home and i'm off on my continued tour of Peninsula Malaysia. This week, the very capable ThreeSixty crew and i are off to the east coast for another overworked, no sleep, crazy 5-days... sigh.
